So the first PED suspension is in, and it goes to noted slugger Alex Sanchez, he of the 2 home-run, .386 slugging season. Boy, if those were steroids he was taking, I’d hate to imagine how hard he’d hit the ball without them.
Here’re the Sox reactions on the Sanchez test:
Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo sounded amazed that Sanchez tested positive.
“The little guy?” Arroyo said, referring to the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Sanchez.
Red Sox second baseman Mark Bellhorn said, “Anybody can do it. Everybody always thinks steroids are the big, bodybuilder type. Just because you take them doesn’t mean you’re going to be a huge dude.”
Funny comment by Arroyo about Sanchez’s size, since Arroyo’s tall but weighs in at only 190. (Of course, 180 is almost 1.5 times my own weight, so who am I to say anything about people’s size?)
