Spahn and Sain and pray for rain? Hey, those Boston Braves are so 20th century. How about Schilling and Pedro and then a tornado? Sox 6, Angels 2, and a 2-2 series split is a good result on the road. Hey, if the Sox keep up their Fenway record I’m happy with .500 on the road.
Meanwhile, the White Sox have re-traded for Jurassic Carl Everett. So to use him for the 2nd halves of 2003 and 2004, they’ve given up a total of 5 (!) prospects. (Jon Rauch and Gary Majewski in 2004; Franklin Francisco, Josh Rupe, and Anthony Webster in 2003).
Everett is, of course, center fielder on my all-Massachusetts lineup, with Wakefield as the starting pitcher. Fred Lynn and Bob Tewksbury form the Old-Timers’ club.
